The Government of Bangladesh declared April 28, "National Legal Aid Day." USAID's Justice for All (JFA) Program joined the National Legal Aid Services Organization and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Justice Sector Facility Project in a nationwide campaign to increase the visibility of government legal aid services. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reaffirmed the government's commitment to the provision of free legal services and dispute resolution alternatives for the poor at an official ceremony held in the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka. Legal aid beneficiaries shared their stories with representatives of government institutions, non-governmental organizations, and the donor community. JFA participated in a Legal Aid Fair with a stall providing materials and information from the JFA Program as well as other USAID rights-based interventions, including USAID's Action to Combat Trafficking and Protecting Human Rights Programs.

JFA supported other Legal Aid activities of the District Legal Aid Committees in the Program's five partner districts: Dhaka, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Rangpur, and Khulna. More than 1,000 commemorative t-shirts and caps, branded with the slogan, "The costs of the poor and destitute litigants are borne by the Government of Bangladesh," were distributed and used in rallies led by senior judges. In Mymensingh District, JFA supported mobile public service announcements via rickshaw microphones, a legal aid fair, and a discussion program with the legal community and civil society. During the Mymensingh Legal Aid Fair, 8 applicants filed requests for Legal Aid assistance.
