USAID’s Justice for All Program assisted the Rajshahi District Legal Aid Office in orienting the Godagari, Tanor, and Charghat Upazila Legal Aid Committees (UZLAC) on their duties and responsibilities on the 22nd, 24th and 25th of September 2014. The Upazila Chairmen, Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNO) and UZLAC members participated in the orientation programs.

District Legal Aid Officer Mr. Atickus Samad, in his speech, informed UZLAC members about the success of legal aid services provided in Rajshahi. He informed UZLAC members about the quarterly reports, updating required registers, and legal aid awareness programs. He emphasized on maintaining smooth co-ordination between UZLAC and DLAC.  UZLAC members asked several questions on government legal aid services and court proceedings in the question-answer session. The UZLAC Chairmen committed to improving performance of legal aid services in their Upazila. They further assured that proper steps will be taken in creating awareness in rural areas about government legal aid services.

The orientation meetings were organized by Sachetan and Light House under a grant from USAID's Justice for All Program.
