National Legal Aid Day Celebrated at the District Level

On April 28, 2014, Bangladesh celebrated National Legal Aid Day. The day marks the Government of Bangladesh’s commitment to access to justice for all through a mobilization of government legal aid stakeholders and partners and the organization of activities and events to information citizens. In its pilot Districts, USAID’s Justice for All (JFA) Program worked with District Legal Aid Committees and sub-grantee partners to hold rallies, discussion programs, cultural events, Legal Aid Fairs, and counseling at the District, Upazila, and Union Parishad levels. Programs were supported by BCCP and BNWLA (Dhaka), BLAST (Mymensingh), Light House and Sachetan (Rajshahi), AID-Comilla (Rangpur), and Rupantar and WJCC (Khulna).
